Cheil Worldwide of Korea wins Cannes Media Grand Prix with QR Codes. This outdoor campaign enables for actual shopping, developing it into a unique combined on/offline campaign. Maria louisa, the president of the Media Lions jury, said it was really an appealing idea that allowed multiple aspects of digital to meet and created a new product that can conveniently permeate into the lives of consumers.

ReplyDeleteI was here! :) hmm. I would say QR code is indeed useful, but I guess it still need some time to be widely used by everyone due to the cost of replacing the normal bar code, learning procedures, etc. anyway, this post is informative! Keep it up Ji young! aza aza fighting! haha :D

ReplyDeleteQR codes are fascinating, from a marketing point of view. A lot of people are scared of them, because they look to "technical", which I suspect may prevent their widespread adoption. Maybe they need to be more user-friendly?
ReplyDeleteThe subway "supermarket" is also interesting. A great use of QR codes, but why does it need to be so big? Couldn't the same outcome be achieved in a small printed book, or on a webpage? Is bigger better?
Yes! Wags! I also thought marketers have just concentrated on using and distributing QR code and they failed to let customers know how it is useful and how they use and get it from them.
ReplyDeleteI think it was needed to be big as their target is workers who are busy and rushed, in order to make them easily noticed and urge to take it through application. and I think they might be able to use webpage but it also requires time for busy workers to log in and search, thus for supermarket especially targeted at busy workers, it is a good idea to make them use their waiting time for shopping in that abnormal place.
I feel awfully isolated, cuz I don't have a smartphone! LOLLLLL X-(
ReplyDelete@JSG I know! even though I have a smartphone, I felt that, as I dont know what it is and how to use it.. but after I search it by myself, then I realised it is awesome! What if JSG you are in generation Y, marketers failed to make themselves get a positive brand image!
